Boys & Girls Club of Collier County to host Youth of the Year event on Feb. 15

Boys & Girls Club of Collier County will host its annual Youth of the Year celebration on Feb. 15 in Naples, where the nonprofit will honor 10 inspiring nominees and share their remarkable stories of perseverance, commitment and achievement.

Youth of the Year is a premier recognition program that honors student members who exemplify the virtues of good character, academic excellence, community service and strong leadership.

“Our theme for this event is ‘Our Future is in Good Hands,’ and that’s certainly true with this year’s group of honorees,” said Boys & Girls Club CEO and President Megan McCarthy Beauvais. “These teens are exceptional leaders in the classroom, at the club and across the community.”

Youth of the Year is a yearlong process that starts with members submitting applications and essays documenting their life stories and vision for the future. Then, each candidate presents before a distinguished panel of judges that includes Boys & Girls Club board members, business partners, and community organizations. Boys & Girls Club announces 10 honorees and three finalists at the event before naming the 2023 Youth of the Year, who will receive scholarship funding and be eligible for a statewide Youth of the Year competition.

Youth of the Year will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Club Pelican Bay, 707 Gulf Park Drive in Naples. Tickets are $750 per person and include dinner, a cocktail reception and formal program. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are still available. Proceeds from Youth of the Year will fund six core program areas at Boys & Girls Club of Collier County: education, career development, character and leadership, health and wellness, sports and education, and the arts.

For tickets or sponsorships, please email RSVP@BGCCC.com or call Beth Sterchi at 239-325-1765.
