Brown & Brown Insurance of Southwest Florida has opened registration for its fourth annual Charity Golf Outing, which helps provide local children with scholarships to attend the early childhood education program at Child Care of Southwest Florida.

The four-person scramble golf tournament features a hearty breakfast, a round of championship golf, lunch and an awards presentation. This year’s tournament is being held Friday, Sept. 27 at West Bay Golf Club, a private 18-hole, 6,973-yard course in Estero that was masterfully renovated in 2018 by Fry Straka.

“Proceeds from the golf tournament help provide scholarships to working parents who might not otherwise be able to afford a high-quality early childhood education program,” said Chris Hansen, CEO of Child Care of Southwest Florida. “Every research study is in agreement that a strong early childhood education program is the difference-maker for children. We need to make sure that every child in Southwest Florida has an opportunity to learn the foundational academic, social and behavioral skills that will carry into elementary school and beyond.”

Child Care of Southwest Florida’s goal is to strengthen the lives of preschool children and their families through a quality and affordable early learning program.

The cost for golf participants is $150 per golfer, or $600 for a foursome. The fee includes golf, breakfast, lunch and tournament swag.

Sponsorship opportunities also are available and start at $150. Sponsorship packages include golf, meals, speaking opportunities and public recognition through marketing and advertising.

“One of our company’s core values is community involvement, and we partner with a number of nonprofit organizations that support youth programs and health care initiatives,” said Jason Cloar, executive vice president and profit center leader for Brown & Brown Insurance of Southwest Florida. “Child Care of Southwest Florida is committed to providing a quality, affordable education for the children of our community, and we are excited to return as presenting sponsor for the fourth annual Charity Golf Outing.”

In 2018, the golf tournament attracted more than 100 golfers and raised over $30,000 for Child Care of Southwest Florida.
