Builders Care, the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA), recently honored several building partners and volunteers in recognition of their service and commitment to Southwest Florida’s elderly and individuals with disabilities and their families.
Builders Care hit a milestone completing its 100th project in December 2011 and celebrated it by recognizing their building partners and volunteers.
Mike Nilles, of Nilles Design, was recognized for his outstanding volunteerism in the office and designing wheelchair ramps. The 2011 Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Builders Care Board member Wendi Carroll of Carroll Properties, for her extra effort on project sites with landscaping and fundraising events. The 2011 Sub-Contractor Partner of the Year was awarded to GulfCoast Engineering, LLC for their on-going contributions in developing and printing construction plans. Aubuchon Team of Companies was honored with the prestigious Partner of the Year award for extraordinary efforts on behalf of Builders Care and the community through their annual Helping Hands for the Holidays event. Past President and Board member Bob Bassett, area president for BB&T, received the President’s Award for his continued leadership and commitment to Builders Care.
Builders Care Board members were also recognized for their commitment to the building industry, the community and the mission of Builders Care. “We are so blessed to have the hands-on support of so many individuals and companies,” said Heidi Taulman, executive director, of Lee BIA Builders Care. “We simply could not do it without their continued support.”
