Adrianna Reyna, 12, has a multitude of medical and physical challenges including severe seizures, not being able to walk or hear, and slight blindness. Her grandmother, Teresa, serves as her full-time caregiver with the help of nurses that come to the home daily. Until recently Adrianna and her caregivers feared for her safety when coming in and out of the home.

Adrianna’s home was in need of a completed sidewalk for mobility and ease for her aging grandparents and nurses, and alterations to the bathroom.

On Oct. 1, volunteers with Builders Care, the charitable agency of the Lee Building Industry Association, constructed a ramp and sidewalk for Adrianna.

Westcoast Structural Concrete and Masonry provided the man power to make this happen. The 37 foot sidewalk was constructed in two days, complete with landings. Other donating companies included HD White Cap and Preferred Materials.

“I am always so grateful to be a part of this organization,” said Jimmy Rodgers, president of Westcoast Structural Concrete and Masonry and board member for Builders Care. “We are helping homeowners that are in dire straits. This is what it’s all about.”
