The American Advertising Federation District 4 honored the Conservancy of Southwest Florida for its excellence in advertising and marketing for both print and video campaigns. District 4 represents 18 local chapters throughout Florida and the Caribbean, and the competition is open to all advertising agencies, public service organizations and special interest groups.
The Conservancy received a Gold Angel Award for the Animal Speaker Poster Campaign, with kid-friendly bold graphics and fun facts about wildlife at the Conservancy. The posters feature “animal ambassadors” including an alligator, snake, owl and turtle with quick facts to illustrate, in a matter of seconds, that the Nature Center is both fun and educational for people of all ages. Guests were directed to visit the animals at various exhibits at the Nature Center campus as well as to the organization’s website for more information.
A Gold Angel Award was also awarded to the Conservancy for video production. “A World Without Sea Turtles,” a three-minute video featuring Conservancy Biologist Leif Johnson, inspired donors to contribute to the Conservancy’s sea turtle research program.
“It’s so important that we have the community’s support as carry out the Conservancy’s vision to protect the region’s water, land, wildlife and future,” said Rob Moher, president and CEO of the Conservancy. “Compelling messages and communication tools help us keep the community engaged and inspired to take action to make a difference for Southwest Florida’s unique natural environment.”
The Conservancy’s advertising and marketing initiatives submitted for the Angel Awards were led by Kate Kintz, director of marketing and creative services; Greg Willette, digital media manager; and Katie Ferron, community engagement coordinator.
