‘Wardrobe on Wheels’ to provide free clothing, career services to local women
Dress for Success SW Florida hits the road with the launch of its Wardrobe on Wheels (WOW) Factor mobile boutique, bringing free clothing and career services to low-income women across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Sarasota and Manatee counties.
The WOW Factor is making its fashionable grand entrance at a debut event at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Victory Layne Chevrolet, located at 3980 Fowler St. in Fort Myers. The event offers the community an opportunity to learn more about the WOW Factor experience and book appointments for future sessions along with light bites, beverages by the Bubbly Bee mobile bar and a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce. With a mission to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women, Dress for Success provides professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. The WOW Factor brings these services out into the community with a custom-stocked mobile boutique offering gently used work attire, shoes, jewelry, purses and hygiene products. A personal stylist encourages, advises and assists guests in their selection. The experience includes access to a Mini Career Search Center, where job seekers can utilize laptops to continue their job search.
“Starting or growing a career can be overwhelming, especially without appropriate attire for your workplace, but this mobile experience offers so much more than clothing,” said Nickole Hendra, executive director of Dress for Success SW Florida. “The goal of our Wardrobe on Wheels is to be a one-stop-shop that can help every woman achieve and maintain her ‘WOW’ factor and move forward with resources and confidence to succeed in reaching their career goals.”
The WOW Factor travels within a 90-mile radius of the Dress for Success SW Florida headquarters in Fort Myers, reaching communities across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Sarasota, and Manatee counties. Groups and organizations can request visits to their locations for groups of five or more. Individuals can also schedule appointments to visit the Dress for Success SW Florida boutique, located at 12995 S. Cleveland Ave., Suite 153, in Fort Myers. Once a completed Style Kit is submitted online with style preferences, sizes and other needs, a private appointment is scheduled with a personal stylist.
Through the support of generous donations, there is no charge to book the mobile boutique and there is no charge to those who receive clothing, accessories, or services.
