Senior Choice at Home By Gulf Coast Village has appointed Erin Benson to the role of Personal Care Coordinator. In this position, Benson works closely with Senior Choice at Home members and their families to help them maintain their independence and to coordinate their care needs including home safety inspections, health care service coordination and referrals, as needed.
Benson brings more than 20 years of expertise in health care case management for seniors to Senior Choice at Home. Her background includes social work experience in skilled nursing, where she coordinated admissions and discharge planning for patients, as well as assisted living care management for patients and families. Benson is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
“As our personal care coordinator, Erin develops relationships with and provides peace of mind to each member as their lifetime partner in care. She monitors their needs and promotes wellness to stay in their home, helping them to maintain their independence longer,” said Janet Grainge, executive director, Senior Choice at Home. “When needed, Erin helps members and families navigate the health care system, working as their advocate and care coordinator. She is both compassionate and professional with our members, and we value her knowledge and experience.”
