Golfers tee off May 29 for Shell Point’s inaugural Memorial Day Golf Tournament

Golfers are invited to participate in the inaugural Shell Point Memorial Day Golf Tournament on Monday, May 29, at The Club at Shell Point, 17500 On Par Blvd. in Fort Myers, Florida. Shotgun begins at 8:15 a.m. and lunch will proceed at 11 a.m. in the newly opened clubhouse.

“The event is a great way to kick off the patriotic holiday with an exciting morning of golf followed by a mouthwatering buffet prepared by our exceptional staff,” said Charlie Howlin, general manager of The Club at Shell Point.

The tournament is open to the public and welcomes all golfers, from the newest beginners to the biggest hitters. The 18-hole championship golf course offers difficult fairways, winding water hazards, and eight tees on every hole – providing challenges and rewards to every player.

Shell Point invites participants to enjoy a great day of golf and friendly competition at this fun Memorial Day holiday event. The entry fee for club members is $45 or $60 for non-members and includes a full morning of golf followed by a BBQ-style lunch, where prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. Sign up for this fun-filled occasion by calling the golf shop at 239-433-9790.

Non-golfers are also welcome to enjoy the tasty Memorial Day buffet during the event, featuring an impressive line-up of mouthwatering entrees that will satisfy the appetites of all holiday-goers. Lunch begins at 11 a.m. in the Banyan Grille at The Club. To make a reservation, call 239-225-2900. Tickets for each non-golfing individual are $16.95 plus gratuity.

The Club at Shell Point features an 18-hole Championship Golf Course that opened in 2000.  The new clubhouse opened in January of this year and features a sophisticated experience in a classic setting with fine dining, salon and spa, and fitness facilities. The course offers a grass driving range and practice green, lessons, and a fully-stocked pro shop and snack bar. The course is open to the public, and is located at the entrance to Shell Point Retirement Community at 17500 On Par Blvd. in Fort Myers, Florida, just off Summerlin Road, two miles before the Sanibel Island Causeway.
