Guadalupe Resale Shop to celebrate National Thrift Store Day on Aug. 17

Guadalupe Resale Shop is celebrating National Thrift Store Day on Saturday, Aug. 17 by offering free tote bags to the first 50 customers and complimentary coffee, tea and cookies.

Guadalupe Resale Shop is an upscale boutique that sells like-new furniture, home décor, kitchenware, artwork, lamps, linens, DVDs and CDs, books and all types of ladies and men’s clothing, including accessories such as jewelry, purses and nearly new shoes. The Shop relies exclusively on donations from area residents and businesses to build its extensive inventory.

“National Thrift Store Day is a great way to introduce residents of northern Collier and southern Lee counties to the Resale Shop,” said manager Kat McNabb. “Once they’re here, though, we hope they take the time to learn more about our purpose, which is to provide financial support for educational programs that are creating endless possibilities for the youth of Immokalee.”

Guadalupe Resale Shop supports Guadalupe Center, which serves more than 1,300 students annually through its Early Childhood Education Program, After-school & Summer Enrichment Program and Tutor Corps Program. The nonprofit’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education for the children of Immokalee.

In addition to the National Thrift Store Day promotion, the Resale Shop routinely announces special sales, like half-off sales of clothing and kitchen accessories, on its Facebook and Instagram pages. Customers and donors also can subscribe to the Resale Shop’s monthly e-newsletter to learn about upcoming promotions and sales.

All donations to Guadalupe Resale Shop, which is located at 12980 Tamiami Trail N., Unit 10, in Naples, are tax deductible. For more information, please call the Resale Shop at 239-594-2696 or visit GuadalupeCenter.org.
