Good Works in Haiti

Gulf Coast Village and Volunteers of America Director of Spiritual Services Pastor Tom Hafer will be taking a one week trip, July 27 – Aug. 2 with a fellow team of missionaries, including his two daughters, to minister and deliver much needed clinical care and medicines to the citizens of Village of Hope in Gaunthier, Haiti, the poorest nation in the western hemisphere. This is Hafer’s second mission trip to Haiti. Following the earthquake of 2010, Hafer and team were on the first commercial airliner allowed into Port-au-Prince to bring relief to Haiti.

Haiti - Tom Hafer

“The mission of Volunteers of America is to reach out and uplift all people to the glory of God (never a hand out, but always a hand-up),” said Hafer. “When people acquire the skills, education, and motivation to climb the ladder of sustainability, they not only survive, they thrive. The Village of Hope, the ongoing Haiti mission project, shares that same quest for self-sufficiency.”
