Gulf Coast Village hosts ‘Lunch and Learn’ seminar featuring senior living expert John C. Spooner

Gulf Coast Village is hosting a free Lunch and Learn seminar on Sept. 24 featuring John C. Spooner, a national expert on senior living communities and financial security for retirees.

Spooner, co-chief executive officer of the senior living consulting firm Greystone, will review options for senior living, including the value proposition of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs), nonprofit vs. for-profit retirement communities, and the costs of CCRCs, rental communities and continuing to live at home. Greystone has worked with more than 500 nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals and senior living organizations over the past 37 years.

As CEO, Spooner is responsible for managing and driving annual business performance, formulating and executing strategies for clients, and interacting with clients, employees, investors and other stakeholders. Spooner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in public administration/economics from Drake University and an advanced fellowship in economics from the University of London; he also completed graduate work in marketing at the University of Pittsburgh.
