Taking Care of Family, Clients & Community for Three Decades

Kevin Ahmadi wins ENPY award as ‘Nonprofit Executive of the Year’ for 2019

Kevin Ahmadi has been named Nonprofit Executive of the Year through the Cape Coral Community Foundation’s Excellence in Nonprofit Performance Yearly (ENPY) awards program.

Ahmadi is area director of operations for Volunteers of America, a national nonprofit, faith-based organization with a growing presence in Southwest Florida. In his role, Ahmadi oversees Gulf Coast Village, Cape Coral’s premier Continuing Care Retirement Community, as well as the Palmview assisted living and memory care facility and Senior Choice at Home, a membership-based program that provides comprehensive long-term care and personal concierge care services for older adults.

The ENPYs is an annual awards competition created to recognize top organizations and individuals for their service and dedication to the people of Southwest Florida. This year’s awards program drew 154 nominations, more than doubling the amount received in prior years.

“Southwest Florida is home to a thriving nonprofit community with so many tremendous leaders, and it’s extremely humbling to be recognized by the Foundation as an ENPY winner for 2019,” Ahmadi said. “I am fortunate to be surrounded by a dedicated, compassionate and hardworking team that deserves all the credit in the world for what they do day in and day out. This award could not have been achieved without them.”

Ahmadi, who joined Gulf Coast Village in 2004, is helping Volunteers of America establish two new senior living communities in Southwest Florida. Construction is nearly complete at The Preserve, which will offer 75 skilled nursing suites, 21 assisted living apartments and 17 memory support suites from the new Hope Preserve Campus in south Fort Myers. After that, Volunteers of America will launch The Colonnade of Estero, a 285-unit complex that will be the Village’s first Continuing Care Retirement Community.

Outside of his role with Volunteers of America, Ahmadi has served the community as president and board member of The Rotary Club of Cape Coral Goldcoast, trustee on the board of directors for the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce and board member for the Cape Coral Community Foundation. Gulfshore Business also has recognized Kevin as one of the top five bosses in Southwest Florida.
