Leadership NEXT networking social Nov. 9 to provide pre-session legislation update

Leadership NEXT, a monthly program for advancing business professionals, will host a networking program from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, educating attendees with a pre-session legislation update.

The Leadership NEXT program will feature a non-partisan review, welcoming Reps. Spencer Roach and Jenna Persons-Mulicka as guest speakers. Attendees will hear from state legislators as they discuss a variety of topics coming into focus in the upcoming legislative session.

Representing District 79 in the Florida State House, Roach is a retired Coast Guard Judge Advocate General (JAG) Officer. Before attending the University of Miami School of Law on a military scholarship, he attended both Edison Community College and Florida Gulf Coast University while serving on active duty. Roach is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Texas. In 2009, he was inducted into the FGCU Soaring Eagles Distinguished Alumni Association and was profiled in National Jurist magazine.

A sixth-generation Southwest Floridian, Persons-Mulicka was elected in 2020 to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 78. Upon graduating from the George Washington University Law School, Persons-Mulicka returned to Fort Myers where she is a partner at Strayhorn & Persons law firm. She has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star for eight consecutive years. Persons-Mulicka presently serves on the Florida Commission on the Status of Women and is a member of the Lee County Republican Executive Committee and the National Republican Lawyers Association.

Attendees of Leadership NEXT represent a variety of businesses and industries throughout Southwest Florida. Sessions take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month and offer opportunities to develop new knowledge and skills, establish working relationships with colleagues and engage in valuable programs and discussions to further enhance their careers. Leadership NEXT’s annual sponsor is the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association. This month’s event sponsor is TECO Peoples Gas.

The Nov. 9 program will be held at the Eastwood Golf Course Clubhouse, located at 4600 Bruce Herd Lane in Fort Myers. Admission is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for future members and includes one complimentary beverage and light appetizers provided by Classy Chics Event Planning & Catering.
