Leadership NEXT to discuss Southwest Florida’s real estate market

Leadership NEXT, a monthly program for advancing business professionals, will host a networking program on June 8 to discuss the current condition of Southwest Florida’s real estate market and the Lee County tax certificate sale.

Leadership NEXT attendees will learn the latest insights into the local real estate market, presented by Jason Jakus on behalf of the Royal Palm Coast Realtor Association (RPCRA). Noelle Branning and John Bodner of the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office will lead the discussion on the tax certificate sale and what property owners and buyers need to know about real estate taxes.

Jakus, RPCRA board member and owner of NextHome Advisors, is a successful real estate professional, speaker and author of the book, “Cracking the Real Estate Code.” As Lee County tax collector, Branning is responsible for the collection and distribution of real and tangible personal property taxes for Lee County, and leads the office in providing a variety of government services on behalf of state agencies. Bodner is the chief operating officer for the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office, overseeing the collection of $1.5 billion in taxes that support the county, numerous municipalities and other local taxing authorities.

Leadership NEXT will be held on Tuesday, June 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, located at 2310 Edwards Drive in Fort Myers. Parking is available across the street from the Chamber in the grass lot of the Florida Repertory Theatre, accessible by Bay Street.

Attendees of Leadership NEXT represent a variety of businesses and industries throughout Southwest Florida. Sessions take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month and offer opportunities to develop new knowledge and skills, establish working relationships with colleagues and engage in valuable programs and discussions to further enhance their careers. Leadership NEXT’s annual sponsor is the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association.

Admission is free for Chamber members and $10 for future members. It includes one complimentary drink provided by Fort Myers Brewing, a non-alcoholic beverage from Coca-Cola Florida and food provided by Buffalo Wings and Rings. Advanced registration is encouraged.
