Leadership NEXT to host networking social at Scotlynn on April 12

Leadership NEXT, a monthly program for advancing business professionals, will host a networking program from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, at Scotlynn USA Division, located at 9597 Gulf Research Lane in Fort Myers.

Scotlynn is a premier transportation and logistics provider that specializes in hauling time sensitive refrigerated produce with seven offices in North America. Leadership NEXT attendees will have the opportunity to tour Scotlynn USA’s new corporate headquarters and hear from USA Division President Ryan Carter and General Manager Adam Stachurski about the history of the business, company culture and what the future holds.

Carter launched Scotlynn USA Division with his business partner in 2010, and has since achieved substantial growth, averaging an annual increase in sales of 40% or more every year and an increase in employees from four to over 300 in only 12 years. Carter was named 2020 Small Business Person of the Year in Florida by the U.S. Small Business Administration and Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year for Southwest Florida in 2019 by the Small Business Development Council at Florida Gulf Coast University. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in economics.

Stachurski spent the bulk of his career in sales and marketing before moving to Florida in 2008 to join his family’s real estate business. After joining the team at Scotlynn, he quickly climbed the ranks within the company from sales trainee to logistics account manager and then to sales team captain before taking on his current role as general manager, where he leads a high-performance team in reaching new goals in sales and customer accounts.

Attendees of Leadership NEXT represent a variety of businesses and industries throughout Southwest Florida. Sessions take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month and offer opportunities to develop new knowledge and skills, establish working relationships with colleagues and engage in valuable programs and discussions to further enhance their careers. Leadership NEXT’s annual sponsor is the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association.

The nonprofit spotlight for the event is Gladiolus Food Pantry, a nonprofit with a mission to reduce hunger by providing healthy, nutritious food while treating everyone with dignity and respect. Gladiolus Food Pantry is the only year-round food pantry in the Harlem Heights area and supplied families with more than 848,000 pounds of food in 2021.

Admission for the Leadership NEXT program is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for future members. Attendees can register at FortMyers.org or call 239-332-2930.
