Shell Point has announced the roster for its fourth annual 2019 Medical Breakthroughs & Discoveries speaker series, a free community health care resource for residents in the greater Fort Myers area.
This educational series, sponsored by The Legacy Foundation at Shell Point in conjunction with Shell Point Wellness Connections, will feature prominent local and national experts who will address recent advances in the fields of regenerative medicine, Alzheimer’s disease, nutrition, chronic disease and more.
“Each year the caliber of our speakers has grown. This year we are excited to welcome health care experts to share updates on the latest advances in medical research and health care practice,” said Jeff Cory, executive director of The Legacy Foundation at Shell Point.
- Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. – “Clinical Applications of Regenerative Medicine,” presented by Dr. Shane Shapiro, Mayo Clinic
- Monday, Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. – “Advances in Alzheimer’s Disease,” presented by Dr. Amanda Smith, Byrd Alzheimer’s Center and Research Institute at the University of South Florida Health
- Thursday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. – “Nutrition Meets Modern Medicine: The Key to Reversing Chronic Disease,” presented by Dr. Michael Klaper, internationally recognized author and speaker
- Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m. – “Make This the Healthiest Year of Your Life Yet!,” presented by Dr. Malissa Wood, Massachusetts General Hospital
All four Medical Breakthroughs & Discoveries presentations are free to the public, and will be held at the Village Church Auditorium on The Island at Shell Point, 15100 Shell Point Blvd. in Fort Myers.
