Stevens Construction completes Lee Health Child Development Center at Gulf Coast Medical Center

Stevens Construction has completed construction of a new child care development center for Lee Health, announced Dan Adams, vice president/principal, Stevens Construction, Inc.

Located at 13880 Plantation Road, the 17,735-square-foot center houses classrooms to accommodate programs for infant, toddler, preschool, VPK and after-school children. Providing convenient drop-off and pick up, the Lee Health Child Development Center at Gulf Coast has a porte-cochere entry, in addition to a secure lobby and covered outdoor playground.

Slated to open in January 2022, the center is licensed for 268 children and is currently accepting applications for Lee Health team members and the public. This will be the fourth Lee Health child care center.

Developed by Summit Management Group, Lee Health is leasing the building. The Stevens Construction team worked in preconstruction for six months prior to construction starting, providing due diligence on the project site, budgeting, constructability reviews and cost-savings suggestions to ensure Summit Management’s budget, schedule and quality goals are achieved.

The Stevens Construction team includes project manager, Mark Pelafas; superintendent, Mark Battaglia; and project administrator, Angie Sugg. The project was designed by GMA Architects and Planners.
