Stevens Construction Inc. earned five awards at the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) Industry Awards event on Nov. 18, including the highest honor of Contractor of the Year.

A panel of judges throughout the state named Stevens Construction Contractor of the Year based on criteria such as the company’s achievement of goals, client relations, professional certifications and community responsibilities.  This is the sixth year Stevens Construction has received this honor, the company won in 2015, 2014, 2012, 2011 and 2007.

Pursing larger projects and diversifying project type were among Stevens Construction’s goals for 2015. The company completed its largest project to date in 2015, Landmark Hospital of Southwest Florida, the company’s first free-standing hospital.  Historically, the majority of the company’s projects were in the health care industry, however in 2015, Stevens Construction had diversified project type to 72 percent healthcare and 28 percent commercial.  Stevens Construction had achieved the goals they had set for 2015 and also increased gross revenue by 120 percent within three years, earning a spot on the INC. Magazine 5000 list for the fourth year.

Stevens Construction won a Summit Award for the best healthcare project in the $5-$8M+ division for Landmark Hospital of Southwest Florida.  Located in Naples, the 86,676-square-foot long-term care, three-story hospital specializes in providing care to medically complex patients who benefit from an extended recovery time.

Stevens Construction also won a Summit Award for best entertainment project within $2M-$4.9M for the 17,500-square-foot Southwest Performing Arts Center in Bonita Springs.

In the best restaurant $0-$1.9M category, Stevens Construction earned a Summit Award for Jason’s Deli, a 5,330-square-foot free-standing restaurant in Fort Myers.

Stevens Construction also won a Summit Award for FineMark National Bank & Trust in the best build-out $0-$1.9M category.  The project occurred while the banking center remained in operation.

Stevens Construction has earned 42 Summit Awards since the program began in 2006.
