Sunshine Ace Hardware, Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware raise more than $25,000 for Children’s Miracle Network

Customers at Sunshine Ace Hardware and Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware teamed up to raise more than $25,000 for local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals through the “Round Up for the Kids” charitable campaign.

Between March 16 and April 30, customers were given the option of rounding up their purchases at the cash register through a new partnership with Children’s Miracle Network. Donations raised at stores in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties will support Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers, while donations at stores in Manatee and Pinellas counties will support Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Tampa.

“These two hospitals provide world-class health care to children along Florida’s Gulf Coast, and that’s why we dedicated our spring fundraising campaign to Children’s Miracle Network,” said Michael Wynn, president of Sunshine Ace and Crowder Bros. Ace. “They say an individual’s true character emerges during times of crisis, and the fact that so many of our customers donated to the campaign despite uncertainty in the world today tells you about the character of this community. We all stand together.”

Customers’ donations will support research, training, and specialized health care, as well as purchase equipment and pay for uncompensated care.

In December, Sunshine Ace Hardware designated Children’s Miracle Network as its “primary charity partner” and began developing a year-round fundraising campaign to support the nonprofit organization. In February, the company raised $1,200 for Children’s Miracle Network through its 5th Annual Reel in the Sunshine fishing expo. Additional fundraising opportunities will be announced in the coming months.

Children’s Miracle Network became a partner of Ace Hardware Corp. in 1991. Since then, contributions from retailers, customers, vendors and associates have generated more than $100 million in philanthropic support.
