Sunshine Ace Hardware raises $65,835 for Children’s Miracle Network

Sunshine Ace Hardware raised $65,835 through a pair of fundraising initiatives to support pediatric health care through Children’s Miracle Network.

The first summer campaign raised $6,000 for Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida through in-store donations from customers and employees.

The second initiative was part of Ace Hardware’s CMN Bucket Days, a nationwide promotion that allowed customers to purchase special buckets for a minimum $5 donation, then get a 20% discount on nearly everything that fits inside the bucket. CMN Bucket Days raised $59,835 to support Golisano Children’s Hospital in Fort Myers and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg through Children’s Miracle Network.

“Sunshine Ace is humbled by the work of the CMN Golisano Children’s Hospital,” said Scott Hamblen, chief operating officer for Sunshine Ace Hardware. “Their work provides critical support for local children and their families in their biggest moment of need. We are so proud to support their efforts in Southwest Florida.”

“I always love getting a call from our friends at Sunshine Ace Hardware,” added Toni Primeaux, director of development for Children’s Miracle Network at Golisano Children’s Hospital. “We can’t thank Sunshine Ace enough for its continued support, which is changing kids’ lives every day.”

Children’s Miracle Network helps fill funding gaps not covered by Medicare and insurance companies at 170 network hospitals nationwide. Funds collected stay local to provide critical treatments and health care services, as well as support research and training to save and improve the lives of children. Donations collected at Sunshine Ace stores in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties support Golisano Children’s Hospital, while donations from stores in Pinellas and Manatee counties support Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
