Charity for Change invites the community to support its efforts to provide fundamental character education and community engagement programs to local students by donating to the organization during the ‘Give Where You Live Collier’ annual fundraising initiative, which takes place Feb. 20-21.
Give Where You Live Collier is a 24-hour, county-wide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Collier County through online giving. The Community Foundation of Collier County and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation are partnering to present Give Where You Live Collier with 40 participating nonprofit organizations in 2019. Donations are accepted through GiveWhereYouLiveCollier.org.
“Charity for Change is inspiring children to live compassionately, give through charity and be contributing members of our community through afterschool, summer school, preschool and in-school programs,” said Karen Conley, founder and CEO of Charity for Change. “The donations we receive through Give Where You Live Collier will help us provide an evidence-based, interactive math and literacy curriculum that weaves in 19 character traits including respect, integrity, cooperation and tolerance, values that children need now, more than ever.”
$500,000 Matching Fund Across Participating Organizations
Give Where You Live Collier features a $400,000 matching fund from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, plus a $100,000 match from the Community Foundation of Collier County. Every dollar donated counts – that’s because every donation made from noon, Feb. 20, 2019 to 11:59 a.m., Feb. 21, 2019 will be enhanced by a proportionate share of the matching fund, increasing the impact of every dollar donated. The first $2,500 raised will be matched dollar-for-dollar through the Community Foundation. Beyond that, for example if Charity for Change receives 10 percent of total Give Where You Live Collier donations, Charity for Change also receives 10 percent of the $400,000 matching fund from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.
