The Place on First, a new mixed-use building coming to the historic downtown Fort Myers River District, has announced its support of United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee Counties’ 60th United Way Campaign. The Place on First will support United Way by donating $10,000 per residence sold now through the duration of the 60th United Way Campaign, which concludes in March 2017. Each donation will be dedicated to the 60th United Way Campaign, supporting United Way’s partner agency Harry Chapin Food Bank and United Way’s newly launched Mission United program, a program dedicated to supporting U.S. military veterans and their families as they reacclimate to civilian life.

The United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee Counties is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving quality of life for those within the four counties through fundraising, fund distribution, community building, volunteer advancement, and information and referral. Mission United will serve as a single phone point of entry utilizing the 211 number to help local United States active military, veterans and their families in Lee, Hendry and Glades counties navigate and access needed services.

As a longtime supporter and active board member of United Way and Harry Chapin Food Bank, and last year’s United Way Campaign Chair, The Place on First developer, David Fry, is passionate about supporting the mission of United Way.

“United Way does so much to support and unite the Southwest Florida community, and our team at The Place on First is proud to contribute a portion of our sales to uphold this organization’s mission,” Fry said. “We are excited to support our neighbors and make a difference within our community by furthering United Way and its many programs and partnerships that enhance quality of life for families in need.”

“The Place on First’s developer, David Fry is a tremendous supporter of our United Way and our Partner Agencies. We are thrilled about his support for the new Mission United initiative,” said Cliff Smith, president of United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee Counties. “David Fry has great passion and vision for the downtown Fort Myers community, and he is using that same passion and vision to help us build this new program for veterans by supporting Mission United.”
