The School District of Lee County to host virtual Spring Teacher Recruitment Fair April 27-28

Prospective teachers are invited to register to attend The School District of Lee County’s Spring Teacher Recruitment Fair, which will be held virtually on Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28.

Principals and assistant principals, along with members of the District’s human resources team, will be conducting virtual interviews with candidates seeking full-time teaching employment for the 2020-21 academic year. The fair is by invitation only, and all prospective candidates must pre-register online by April 17 at www.LeeSchools.net/Careers. Eligible applicants will receive confirmation of acceptance and more information on the interview process via email.

Teaching positions are available across the District at the elementary, middle and high school levels, including at the brand-new Gateway High School, which will begin educating students in the 2020-2021 school year. Offers of employment will be extended during the recruitment fair, so candidates must meet one of three criteria:

  • Hold a valid standard teaching certificate (Florida or out-of-state)
  • Expected to graduate from a college of education by August 2020
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in an area where certification can be obtained or any degree major and a passing score on a subject area exam

The School District of Lee County’s efforts to put “The Right Talent in the Right Place” means that new teachers will receive the support and necessary resources that will enable them to succeed upon entering the field of education. The District offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation plan for its employees, and the starting compensation package of over $53,000 for teachers encompasses salary, medical coverage and life insurance, pension and investment plan contributions, and social security and Medicare employer contributions. Additional benefits and earning opportunities are also available via advanced degree supplement, summer school, athletic coaching and more. Upon hire, a personal benefits selection process will be made available to eligible employees.
