Vapiano, a European-based restaurant and lounge located in the Gulf Coast Town Center, is celebrating its one-year anniversary. The Fort Myers location is one of only six restaurants in the United States and the only Florida location.

“Vapiano is a truly unique dining experience and the Fort Myers location has been very well-received,” said Martin Luible, managing partner of Vapiano Florida. Luible formerly served as director of franchising and expansion for Vapiano International in Europe and chief operating officer of Vapiano USA.

“The Gulf Coast Town Center is a beautiful complex with a convenient location and great potential for growth,” he said.

Vapiano restaurants are expected to open soon in other metropolitan areas like Orlando and Miami.

Vapiano, a German-based restaurant specializing in fresh, casual Italian cuisine, is one of the most successful restaurant chains in Europe and winner of the prestigious 2008 “Hot Concepts” award from Nation’s Restaurant News.

“Vapiano means ‘go slow’ in Italian and the restaurants’ atmosphere emulates the theme of eating well and enjoying life,” said Luible. “We strive to keep that modern, relaxed mood in everything we do, from fresh ingredients to the natural décor of marble, slate, oak and leather.”
