Wonder Gardens hosts Brews for the Birds Dec. 9

“Brews for the Birds” is on tap at the Wonder Gardens in Bonita Springs on Friday, Dec. 9, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The goal of the event is to raise money for the continued care of rescued, rehabilitated and non- releasable birds at the 86-year-old botanic and zoological gardens, which is still recovering from damage from Hurricane Ian.

“We had to reschedule this event in October due to damage to Wonder Gardens from Hurricane Ian,” said Neil Anderson, executive director at Wonder Gardens. “We had tremendous support from volunteers and donations after the storm devastated our landscaping and buildings. In addition to funding needed for our regular operations, the event will help us raise funds because our welcome center, gift shop, administrative offices and animal care kitchen remain non-operational due to water and wind damage.”

Sponsored by Nassau Pools Construction, Wintrust Banking Center Hughes Exterminators and RDA Consulting Engineers, the adults-only event includes food trucks, beer from local and national breweries, wine and mixed-drink tastings, local business vendors, raffles and live music. Tickets are available online and are $50 for Wonder Gardens members and $55 for nonmembers and include unlimited beer and wine tastings, access to the park, live entertainment and take-home cup. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online at wondergardens.org/brews-for-the-birds-fall-2022/.

Food trucks include Dudley’s Beachside BBQ, Eat Bold, and Eazy Cheezy. Participating breweries and beverage sponsors are Abita, Bells, Cigar City Brewing, Cycle/Brew Hub, Flying Eagle Kombucha, Fort Myers Brewing, Keel Farms, Lagunitas, New Belgium, Sierra Nevada, Tank Brewing, Terrapin and Walking Tree. Entertainment includes live music from Prana Songbird and tricks by Magician Randy.
